Compared two ways of sectioning for a foil highlight and one was way faster

I've always done the traditional brickwork pattern for foils, but last week I tried the "horseshoe" sectioning method my instructor back in Denver showed me once. It took me about 20 minutes less on a full head of highlights, and the placement looked way more even. Has anyone else tried switching up their sectioning and noticed a big time difference?

Read something similar in a trade mag last month, @daniel_cooper34 nailed it with the color saturation call.

Way more even" is the exact phrase that caught my attention (and honestly sold me on trying it myself). I've been doing the brickwork pattern for so long that I never questioned it, but the horseshoe method makes so much sense for keeping sections consistent without that constant back-and-forth. The time savings are a huge bonus too, especially on busy days when every minute counts against your schedule. I'm curious if you noticed any difference in how the color saturates or if the weight of the sections feels different when you're working from the back forward.

Yeah 30 mins saved honestly convinced me too, I was skeptical at first. Color saturation feels deeper to me actually, like it settles in more even cause you're not dragging the brush over already started areas.
