Found a game changer for blending out color lines last week

I've been doing hair for about 8 years now and always struggled with getting a seamless blend when doing bayalage on dark hair. Last Tuesday I had a client with a really harsh grown-out highlight and my usual babylight technique was not cutting it. On a whim I tried using a wet brush dipped in developer after I painted each section and it softened the lines way more than I expected. The finished result looked so natural the client actually teared up. Has anyone else tried this or got another trick for blending dark roots into lighter hair?

honestly it's just wetting down some hair with developer, not exactly rocket science lol

384 different foam products on the market and people still think pouring 20 volume on damp roots is a "technique." I've watched stylists charge $75 extra for a "volumizing treatment" that was literally just sitting their client under a dryer with some generic lotion on. The whole industry overcomplicates the basics so they can justify the price tag. Have you ever seen someone actually mess up a basic wet set bad enough to blame it on the developer?

Nail on the head @daniel_cooper34. People act like they're mixing a chemical compound when really it's just damp hair and some creme developer. I've seen tutorials that treat it like a whole science experiment. It's literally just wetting the hair low, developer sits on it, and you wait. No need for a lab coat.
