Had a client in Phoenix ask for a 'sunset ombre' but bring in a neon orange wig as her color reference.

Took me two full consultations and three test strands to gently steer her toward something that wouldn't glow in the dark. Anyone else ever had a color request that made you pause for a solid minute?

Is it really that bad though? Neon orange is definitely a tough sell but I bet you could have mixed a tiny bit into a warm coral base and let the sunset fade handle the rest. Sometimes clients just want to feel like they're pushing boundaries and the right compromise can still get them there.

Oh my gosh, yes. A client once brought in a picture of a glitter gel pen and wanted her hair to match it exactly. The shine, the sparkle, everything. It took forever to explain that hair pigment and craft store glitter are two very different things. We landed on a really nice metallic gloss instead.

That sounds like a nightmare, honestly.

Actually, that sounds kind of fun to figure out.
