Just wasted $75 on a 'miracle' hair mask that did nothing

I saw an ad for this deep conditioning mask that promised to fix split ends in one use. Bought it online for $75, which is a lot for me. Used it exactly like the video showed, left it on for 30 minutes. My client's hair felt exactly the same after, maybe a little drier. Has anyone found a good repair treatment that actually works?

Yeah, those overnight fixes are total scams. My hair is pretty fried from years of dye, and nothing fixes split ends except cutting them off. I agree with abbyp61, regular trims are the only real fix. Spending $75 on a single mask is wild to me when a haircut costs less and actually works. Those ads just make you feel bad about normal hair problems.

Those split end miracle cures are such a letdown. My stylist friend says the only thing that truly "fixes" them is sealing the cuticle with heat, like a good blowout with a protectant. Makes hair look smoother for a bit, but yeah, the cut is coming.

Honestly, those overnight fixes are usually scams. You're better off with regular trims and a cheap conditioner.

My sister used a $5 hair mask from the drugstore twice a week for a month. Her split ends actually looked way better, and she stopped talking about a big chop. I was totally surprised. What cheap conditioner do you use?
