Manager breathing down my neck during color services
It throws off my timing and makes clients uneasy. I've talked to her, but things stay the same. What should I do next?

Yeah when you said it throws off your timing, that's the worst part! Since talking to her directly didn't work, I'd start writing down every time it happens. Like the date, client name, and exactly how she interrupted. Then take that list to the owner or someone above her. It's harder for them to ignore a solid record of the problem.

Totally! My buddy kept a log like that when his boss kept stealing his ideas in meetings. Management finally listened after seeing two months of dates and details.

Oh man, that log idea is a game changer. I did the same thing with a coworker who kept taking my supplies, and showing my boss the list of dates made him take it seriously. Having it all written down stops it from just being your word against theirs.

Detailed records can really change how management sees a problem. An article I read said bosses might not know how often something happens until it's on paper. The log idea from the other comments is spot on because it turns your feelings into facts. When you have dates and client names, it's harder for anyone to say you're just complaining. Take that list to someone higher up, and be clear about how it hurts client comfort and your work. Stick with it because your peace at work matters for doing good color jobs.
