Shoutout to the stylist who taught me about sectioning for fine hair

I kept seeing people on here struggling with fine hair turning into a flat mess after blow drying. For years I thought it was just the products I used, but last month at a workshop in Austin, a stylist named Dani showed me that I was sectioning too big. She said "your sections should be no wider than your comb" and that one tip totally changed my results. Has anyone else had a random small tip like this suddenly click for them?

Oh yeah, those tiny claw clips work great for keeping fine hair sections separate.

Did Dani say anything about how to clip the sections so they stay put while you're working on another one? I always have trouble keeping the rest of my hair out of the way.
