That $900 flat iron investment still stings but wow

Back when I started at the salon in Tulsa, I dropped $900 on a top tier flat iron because my mentor swore I'd regret cheap ones. That thing lasted me almost 8 years through daily back to back clients and never once yanked or snagged a curl. Now my new $150 one is already acting up, so are the pricey tools really worth it or did I just get lucky with that old model?

Skip the fancy models. You paid for a name and a good run, but the market changed. That old one was a tank, sure, but $900 is rent money for a lot of folks. Your $150 one just needs a good cleaning and maybe a lighter touch. Most of the time people blame the tool when it's really technique or buildup.
