TIL a client's scalp condition in my chair made me rethink my whole consultation
She had what looked like severe dandruff, but after I asked about her meds, she mentioned a new prescription that caused it. Now I always ask about medications and skin changes before I even pick up a brush. Anyone else have a story where a simple question uncovered a major client health thing?

My barber caught my high blood pressure that way.

That's wild but honestly it makes sense. I've noticed a lot of people find out about health stuff from totally random places now, not even doctors. Like a friend's dentist spotted something wrong with her gums that turned out to be a bigger issue. It's like we're all walking around with these clues and sometimes the person who notices is just the one who sees you regularly. Kinda scary but also cool that people in everyday jobs end up looking out for us like that.

Barbers aren't trained for that, but @cameron_hernandez69's story shows how important it is to actually see a doctor.

Totally agree with avery_flores about seeing a doctor for the real diagnosis. That barber story is a good reminder to pay attention to your own body too. Like, maybe get one of those cheap home blood pressure cuffs if you're curious, they're at any drug store. But yeah, it's just a starting point, you gotta take that info to a professional who knows what to do with it.
