Why does nobody talk about how many people are allergic to common hair dye ingredients?
I was reading a trade journal from the salon association and saw a stat that nearly 10% of clients can have a reaction to PPD, which is in a lot of permanent color. I found this out after a regular client in Austin had a mild reaction to a formula I've used for ages. Has anyone else had to switch up their color line because of this?

Remember reading about a stylist in Dallas who had to stop using a whole brand because of reactions like that.

Patch test every single time, even with familiar products.

That PPD allergy thing is no joke. My cousin had a reaction to a box dye that sent her to urgent care, her whole scalp and neck were swollen and red. It was one of those "for dark hair" kits from the drugstore. She had used it before with no problem, so it really came out of nowhere. Makes you wonder how many people just deal with the itch and don't even connect it to the hair color.
