Finally picked a POV for my sci-fi story after a month of going back and forth

I was stuck for weeks trying to decide between first person from the alien's view or third person limited following the human explorer. I went with the alien's POV, writing about how it sees human tech as living magic. It felt weird at first, but after 3 chapters, the worldbuilding just clicked in a way it didn't before. I'm finally getting 500 words a day down without forcing it. Has anyone else had a POV choice unlock a story for them?

Oh man, that's the best feeling. Staring at a blank page for weeks and then the right POV just flips a switch in your brain. Writing from the alien's side sounds way more fun, like you get to build the rules from scratch. Why would you ever pick the human view when you can make their tech look like magic? That choice probably fixed your whole world in one go.

Yeah that "flip a switch" thing is so true. I see it everywhere, like when someone tries to explain their job and picks the wrong starting point and it's a mess. But then they reframe it from the customer's confusion or the problem it solves, and suddenly it clicks. It's all about finding the angle that makes the complex stuff feel simple.

Totally get that. Picking the kid's POV saved my last draft.
