I finally found a trick that kills writer's block fast

I was stuck on a scene for 3 days straight, just staring at a blinking cursor in my local coffee shop. Then I tried typing the worst possible version of that scene on purpose, and somehow the garbage version unlocked the real one. Has anyone else used the "write it badly" method to break through a block?

Yeah, bad drafts are way easier to fix than blank pages.

Buddy of mine once spent three hours staring at a blank doc for a class project, got nowhere, and ended up just typing random garbage to have something. Smith.elliot's totally right about this because his prof actually liked that mess and said it had a solid starting point to fix. That blank page panic is a killer but even a bad draft gives you something to work with.

Sometimes staring at nothing actually helps your brain work through ideas without you knowing it.
