That week I tried writing a novel in 7 days was a complete disaster

I sat down last June convinced I could crank out 50,000 words for a week long challenge. By day three I had 2,000 words and a migraine from staring at a blank screen too long. Has anyone else fallen for those fast writing challenges and ended up worse off than when you started?

Did you plan out even a basic outline before you started, or did you just sit down and wing it? That's usually the difference between a fun challenge and a total trainwreck in my experience.

Yeah I've definitely been on both sides of that. One time I spent like two hours outlining a weekend project and then just ignored the whole thing when I got into it. Ended up being way more fun that way honestly.
