The librarian who remembered my novel draft after 8 months
I was at the public library in Portland last October, printing out chapter 12 of my fantasy novel draft. The librarian at the help desk, an older woman named Rita, glanced at the pages and asked if the dragon character ever got his revenge. I was shocked because I had mentioned that plot point once in passing back in February when I was just brainstorming. She said she keeps notes on regulars who print creative work, and that little moment made me feel like a real writer. Has anyone else had a stranger remember their story details out of nowhere?

Honestly I used to think librarians just shelved books and shushed people, but stories like this make me realize theyre basically the quiet guardians of everyones weird little projects. Rita remembering your dragon plot is such a small thing but it probably meant more than any publishing milestone. Kinda makes me wish I printed my stuff at the library instead of my apartment lol.
