A deep fake of our town council debate is spreading on Nextdoor, and the comments are a mess.
I've been trying to point out the unnatural hand movements, but folks just argue about politics instead.

Why do the hands always look like they're trying to swat invisible bees? People are so busy picking sides they miss the obvious fake stuff right in front of them. I guess bad tech is the only bipartisan thing left.

Seriously though, maybe we're all just staring at screens too much. Real problems exist and getting worked up over weird AI hands feels like a distraction. You're right about the bee hands thing @bettyramirez, but is it worth the energy?

But what if noticing the bad tech is the whole point? I get what @jana672 means about real problems, but spotting the fake stuff makes us pay better attention everywhere else. Those weird hands are a sign that something's off, and training ourselves to see that feels useful, not like a waste. It's less about the hands themselves and more about not getting fooled by the bigger tricks.

What if our new shared hobby is just becoming detectives for badly drawn tech? We went from arguing about politics to bonding over AI's creepy, bee-swating hands. Maybe our grandkids will hear stories about how we saved the world by spotting weird fingers in stock photos.
