How one comment about eye movement cracked my whole method

I was teaching my niece how to spot fakes using mouth shapes, and she said 'but their eyes don't blink right, aunt Blair,' and that sent me down a 2 hour rabbit hole comparing 20 clips from last month. Now I check blink rate and pupil reflection before anything else, it's way faster than lip sync analysis. Has anyone else found a single tell that just made everything click?

Wait, have you checked how their ears line up with their jaw when they talk? I noticed a lot of these fakes have the ear lobe sitting too high or too low compared to the mouth movement, like the whole head is a flat image being bent and stretched. It's subtle but once you see it you can't unsee it, especially in side profiles or 3/4 angles. That plus the blink thing you found, I bet you could spot fakes in under 3 seconds. It's like the software just doesn't bother with ear placement because most people never look there.
