I think we're focusing too much on the eyes when checking for fakes
For a year, I only looked at blinking and pupil shape, but a fake I saw last week had perfect eyes and messed up ear shadows. How do you check the edges of the face now?

My buddy Mark got burned last week because the hairline on a fake portrait was way too sharp, like it was cut out with scissors.

Yeah, that's a classic giveaway. I read an article last week about how AI still struggles with the soft edges of things like hair or fabric. It makes everything look too defined, like a bad photoshop job. Your brain picks up on that stuff even if you don't know why it looks off. Mark's not the only one, I've seen a bunch of people online pointing out the same weird sharp hairlines.

Used to think it was all about the eyes looking dead, but you're totally right about the edges. Saw a fake ad for shampoo with hair that looked like plastic doll hair, zero flyaways. That's when it clicked for me. The perfect sharpness just feels WRONG on anything that should be soft.
