Serious question, the fake celebrity charity clip from April changed my whole process.
I used to just look for blurry edges on faces, but that one had perfect seams and failed on the background lighting near a window. Now I freeze the frame and check reflections in eyes or glasses first thing. What's the one detail that always trips up a fake for you guys?

Shadows never match the light source in fakes.

Actually that's not always true anymore. Some deepfakes are getting pretty good at matching lighting and shadows. It's getting harder to spot the fakes for sure.

Yeah, alice_allen5 is totally right about the shadows. I saw a clip last week where the fake light on a face looked perfect with the room. It's getting scary good now.

Honestly, that eye reflection trick is already outdated. The new stuff fixes that first because it's such an obvious tell. Gotta look at stuff like hair movement now, that's the real killer.
