Spotted a fake celebrity chef video that fooled my whole cooking group
I was at a potluck last Saturday in Portland and someone showed a video of Gordon Ramsay supposedly praising a new kitchen gadget, but the lighting on his face didn't match the background. A few people in the group were ready to buy it until I pointed out how his mouth movements were slightly off from the audio. Has anyone here spotted deep fakes used in fake product endorsements and what tells do you look for first?

Man that's wild but honestly it's getting scary how good these fakes are becoming. I've noticed it's not just cooking stuff either, I saw a deepfake the other day of a local news anchor pushing some sketchy weight loss tea and it almost got me until I realized she never blinks normally in real life lol. The mouth thing you mentioned is usually my first red flag too, that and when the shadows on their face don't match the room lighting at all. It makes you wonder how many people are getting scammed by these things every day without even knowing it.

Wait, do you think the anchors themselves even know their faces are being used for this stuff? Feels like we're heading into some wild west territory with AI.
