Vent: I almost flagged a real interview as a deepfake because of a weird audio sync
Was reviewing a clip from a 2020 press conference in Denver and the mayor's mouth movements looked off by a few frames, but it turned out the original broadcast had a known encoding glitch. Has anyone else had a real technical flaw trick them into a false positive?

Ever notice how a tiny glitch can make you question everything you see now?

Yeah, @quinnm77, that "question everything" feeling is seriously spooky now.

Spot a weird shadow in a video or hear a voice that cuts out just wrong and my brain goes straight to "deepfake." Saw a clip of a politician last week where his tie seemed to flicker for a second. Spent twenty minutes trying to find the original source because I couldn't trust it. Makes you not even believe your own eyes anymore.

Tell me about it. I saw a clip of a singer last month where her earring just vanished for a frame. Completely sent me down a rabbit hole trying to figure out if it was edited. You're right, @felixm29, it rewires your brain to look for flaws first. Now I second-guess every weird shadow or blurry patch. It's exhausting not being able to take a simple video at face value anymore.
