Can we talk about trying to get my dad to use a pill organizer
Honestly, I bought a big weekly one with the days labeled, thinking it was a no-brainer. He filled it once, then refused to use it again, saying it made him feel 'managed'. Ngl, I learned that just buying the tool isn't enough, you have to get their buy-in first. Has anyone else had a parent totally reject a simple organization aid?

Forget buy-in, sometimes you just need to push the practical fix. That organizer is a basic tool, not a personal insult like @the_claire suggests. Calling it a loss of control gives a simple solution too much power.

Isn't it funny how the simplest tools can feel like a loss of control? I see this all the time where people will choose a harder way just to feel independent. Getting that buy-in really is the whole game.

Wait, people actually see a basic organizer as a personal insult? That's wild. It's just a box for pens. The idea that someone would rather struggle every day just to avoid using a simple tool... it makes no sense. Giving a plastic bin that much power over your feelings seems exhausting.
