Expensive advice" is right. My cousin's friend got talked into a joint account with her boyfriend for "simplicity." When they broke up, he cleared it out and bought a jet ski. She never saw a dime of that five grand.

What was the neighbor's reasoning for that? Sounds like some really expensive advice.
