My dad's new doctor in Phoenix asked him to list his medications from memory and he couldn't name a single one.
That's when I realized I was wrong to just keep a paper list in the kitchen, and I started using a free app called Medisafe on both our phones so we both get refill alerts and can update it instantly.

Honestly that paper list sounds fine. Apps can be confusing for older people and what if the phone dies.

Totally agree. Saw my mom trying to use a store app last week, she got stuck on the login screen for ten minutes. A paper list just works, no batteries or updates. You can also hand it to a store helper without unlocking your phone. It's one less thing to worry about when you're already busy.
