My mom's medical alert system went offline for a full day last week

The base unit just stopped connecting to the monitoring center. I found out because I called to check in and she said the help button wasn't lighting up. I had to drive over, unplug it, wait ten minutes, and plug it back in to get it working again. Has anyone else had this kind of random failure with these systems?

That "unplug it, wait, plug it back in" fix is the story of my life with tech. My dad's system did the same thing a few months back, just a total silent drop. It's really worrying when you realize it's been down and they didn't know. You did the right thing driving over. I hope it stays online now.

My old router would go out for exactly 45 minutes every Tuesday. After patricia32's comment about her doorbell, I finally replaced the thing. The silent failures are the worst part of all this connected stuff.

Yeah that "silent drop" wilson.olivia mentioned is everywhere now, my smart lights and doorbell do it constantly. Makes you lose trust in anything connected.
