Worst Tuesday I've had with Mom's insurance since January
Got a letter saying her home health aide visits got denied again because they coded something wrong on the form. I spent 4 hours on the phone with Medicare and still got nowhere. Has anyone else had to deal with these stupid coding errors?

Actually the coding errors are usually there for a REASON and Mom's paperwork probably has some mistake in it that you're missing. Medicare has very specific rules about what counts as a "skilled need" versus basic help around the house.

Man, I mean... that's rough. But honestly, I wonder what kind of "skilled need" exactly they're saying she doesn't have. Like, is it just the basic bathing and dressing stuff, or is there a wound care or a feeding tube situation? Because I've seen where Medicare will deny aide visits if they think the family can do the same thing without a nurse involved.

Yeah @charles836 that's what I've heard too, I read somewhere that Medicare is super strict about the "skilled need" thing and they basically count anything that could be done by a family member as not covered.
