Debate: Did tailoring go TOO minimal or is it finally right?
I was looking at old photos from 2015, and blazers had those big shoulder pads and wide lapels everywhere. Fast forward to now, and everything is so slim and clean - sometimes almost too plain. My buddy says the old look was powerful and commanding, but I think it dated every photo so bad. Which side are you on - did we lose something good or is this cleaner look the way to go?
Man, I had a buddy who wore one of those 2015 blazers to a wedding last year and he looked like he was going to a board meeting from a decade ago. The tailor actually told him the shoulders were so wide it made his head look tiny in photos. He ended up swapping it for a slim fit from a friend and suddenly the whole outfit just worked.
