I spilled coffee on my white silk sample right before a client meeting in Chicago

I grabbed a bottle of club soda from the cafe and blotted it for ten minutes, which saved the fabric but left a faint ring, so has anyone found a better fix for silk stains that actually works every time?

Club soda is a decent first step but that ring is the real killer. The trick is to treat the whole area, not just the stain. After you blot, you need to gently flush the spot with cool water from the back of the fabric. This pushes the residue out instead of letting it dry at the edges. Lay it flat to dry, never use heat. A faint ring usually means some oily coffee residue was left behind.

Phoenix_martin40 is totally right about the ring being the problem... it's like the stain's ghost. I've found a tiny bit of dish soap on the damp ring after flushing helps break up that last bit of oil.

Gently flush from the back" sounds like a lot for a coffee stain, phoenix_martin40. It's just a shirt, not a crime scene.
