TIL mixing silk and a specific wool felt can make a fabric that holds a crazy shape
I was messing around with scraps and accidentally fused them with a low heat iron, and now it's like a soft, moldable cardboard. Has anyone else stumbled onto a weird fabric combo that works?
Wondering if the heat did something to the proteins in both fibers. Silk and wool are both protein based, unlike plant stuff like cotton. Maybe that low heat caused them to bond in a unique way you can't get with a synthetic mix. This could be a whole new way to shape fabric without heavy resins or glue.
